October 2018

The season of mists and mellow fruitfulness is now well underway and here at Arlington Arts, we have a bumper crop of shows and events to cater to every taste.

Throughout the whole month we are hosting the inaugural exhibition by the Newbury Printmakers Group. Come and feast your eyes on the art work produced by this local group of talented artists.

Big CountryKicking off the October performances are Rock legends Big Country on Thursday 04 October. They will be performing the classics such as ‘Fields of Fire’ and ‘In A Big Country’ that brought them three Grammy nominations.

Sons of Pitches, winners of BBC2 ‘The Naked Choir’, almost sold out as soon as tickets were put on sale but we do have a few VIP tickets left for this multi-talented vocal group, coming to Arlington Arts on 5th October to perform 100 Number One Hits!

Give Me Your LoveTwo thought-provoking pieces of theatre, dealing with post-traumatic stress and the ups and downs of love in 21st century society respectively, ‘Give Me Your Love’ (10th October) and ‘A Hundred Different Words for Love’ (18th) promise to raise our awareness and understanding of these issues.

As you will know, we love a bit of the Blues here at Arlington Arts and you can get your fill with Stevie Nimmo and Elles Bailey Thursday 11 October and Friday 12 October respectively.

Fans of folk have a couple of treats in store: save the air fare on your trip to Dublin and come and enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Temple Bar on a Saturday night when Sir Reg perform their energetic and infectious brand of Celtic Punk on 13th October. All members of the audience a free bottle of Guinness!

On Friday 19 October we have Crowd Company bringing the Soul and Funk so get ready to dance!

The following nights sees Whole Lotta Led celebrating 50 years of Led Zeppelin. This one almost always sells out so make sure you get your tickets ASAP!

At the end of the month, two artists with Bob Harris favourite, Rachel Harrington, brings us the fruits of her five-year reflections on life in rural Oregon on Thursday 25 October.

On Tuesday 30th, an evening with singer-guitarist John Smith will leave you chilled and moved in equal measure, with his uniquely intimate performance style.
