A Message From Our Director

Hello!

I’m so delighted to be able to introduce myself as the new Director of Arlington Arts!

The past 6 months have been a rollercoaster of getting to know this wonderful venue in its amazing setting, and meeting lots of you at various different events.

I am really proud and excited to introduce this forthcoming season. Going forward, you may notice a few changes – but hopefully good ones. We’ll of course be living up to our reputation of hosting some of the best original live music on the scene – with the welcome return of bands like Reverend Peyton and Police Dog Hogan, and a couple of really exciting new acts – with Brave Rival and Dom Martin both fresh from their recent success at the UK Blues Awards.

But we’re also going to have a stronger focus on other types of event too. We’re keen to make families feel really welcome here, with a more regular children’s theatre slot – look out for Magician Trixy bringing magic and mayhem in the half-term, plus beautiful puppets and storytelling with the wonderful Widdershins and Fideri Fidera. And to kick off your summer holidays, bring the littl’uns along to Groove Baby – a live music and dance sensation loved by adults and children alike.

We’re also dedicated to making you laugh! Our comedy nights are back with a bang – with the fabulous Ignacio Lopez and Stephen K Amos live on stage – not to mention the launch of our very own comedy club! Comedy Ladder at Arlington will be presenting some of the funniest up-and-coming talent on Friday evenings – don’t miss the very first outing in late October, with regular gigs planned for the new year.

All that and some top-notch drama – to give you Halloween shivers with Haunted, gleeful giggles with Gonzo Moose’s Death Who’s Coming to Dinner, and clear up one of Agatha Christie’s most enduring mysteries – her own disappearance for 12 days in 1926! Not to mention shining a different light on the Bard with our Candlelit Romeo & Juliet, and completely bonkers Improvised Shakespeare Show. Hopefully something for everyone to enjoy. Come and tell me what you think! I can’t wait to meet you there.
