We are inviting anyone and everyone to paint, print, draw, photograph a postcard-sized piece of artwork on the theme of JOY, in aid of Arlington Arts and Mary Hare School.

What brings you joy? What does joy feel like? What is joy?

A favourite place, a cup of tea with a friend, sunshine, a view, a pet, peace, dancing or even the thought of returning to your favourite venue….

Artists, musicians, audience members, school students and staff, volunteers and supporters are being asked to donate their talents by creating a postcard, which will then be sold in aid of Mary Hare School for Deaf Children.

All submissions will be displayed in our foyer and online, and will go on sale, each for £20 (inc of VAT and postage and packing). All postcards will be anonymous, until sold – unless the artist wishes to remain anonymous.

In addition we will ask the public to vote on their favourite postcards and the top 5 will be printed and sold, the proceeds of which will go to Mary Hare School as well.

Will you help us?

Here’s some useful practical information:

All submissions should be on A6 card (148 x 105 mm) – we can post a blank postcard to you if necessary.

You can use any media, as long as we can display it on the wall! If you would like to add a message on the reverse, you are welcome to do so.

Please put your name and a title if applicable, on the reverse of the postcard. If you would rather remain anonymous, then you don’t need to do so, but please include your name when you submit your artwork.

Artworks should be posted to Arlington Arts Centre, Mary Hare School, Snelsmore Common, Newbury RG14 3BQ or digital art can be scanned and emailed to boxoffice@arlingtonarts.org.uk to arrive no later than Monday 22nd March 2021

They will be exhibited in our foyer and on our website and social media, and available to purchase from Monday 29th March 2021. The exhibition in the foyer will be open until Friday 30th April 2021.
