Join the Apollo Big Band and the outstanding composer, arranger, musical director and trombone soloist – Callum Au. Apollo will perform several of Callum’s unique arrangements and feature his virtuosic jazz trombone. Callum is one of the Uk’s top jazz musicians and is highly regarded for his stylistic awareness and versatility, and has worked with some of the world’s biggest artists, including Michael Bublé, RAYE, and the Metropole Orkest.
In 2021 Callum arranged two songs for Michael Bublé’s Grammy winning album ‘Higher’. More recently, he contributed four arrangements to Dua Lipa’s ‘Live from the Royal Albert Hall’ and wrote the vast majority of the critically acclaimed 2024 BBC Concert Orchestra Disco Prom.
The Apollo Big Band is Newbury’s very own local big band, performing regularly with guest artists from across the UK. Join the Apollo Big Band as they feature Callum’s jazz trombone and perform some of his big band arrangements along with contributions from other UK arrangers, including members of the band.
This will be a night to remember!

The venue opens one hour before the performance begins, with the bar also starting service at that time. The auditorium doors typically open 30 minutes before the performance.
Tickets can be purchased from the box office, located directly opposite the entrance doors. It is open weekdays from 10.00am to 4:30pm, and also just before and during each show. Both the box office and the bar accept card and cash payments.
Please note that the venue is located on the site of Mary Hare School. We kindly ask all visitors to remain in public areas only. These include the auditorium, foyer, grass area, and the designated smoking area to the left of the venue entrance (as you face it).
Please note that there is no cash machine on site.
